Redesign of a large family garden
The brief for this garden design was to add colour and seasonal interest while dividing up the garden to provide different functional areas.
The large planting beds surrounding the new pool help to settle it into the garden while providing swimmers with a sense of enclosure. The planting is designed to be drought tolerant and pollinator friendly and buzzes with life.
The winding paths through the grass borders offer different routes through the garden and the prospect of discoveries.
The traditional greenhouse provides a focal point for the garden when viewed from the house and anchors the vegetable and cut flower garden into the design.
At the end of the garden a large lawn for family games is surrounded by large shady borders, a wildlife area with a pond and an area of wildflower meadow.

Redesign of a small urban garden in surrey
Following the recent renovation of this townhouse the view of the garden was framed by large bifold doors. With a small lawn and narrow side borders the garden followed a classic design which developers tend to install in new houses but was not providing much colour or interest.
The new design removes the lawn entirely, replacing it with gravel interspersed with planting, and stepping stones providing a practical route to the back gate as the client uses this as the main access for the house.
The planting focused on featuring different textured foliage and shades of green with perennials and shrubs providing a long flowering season to add colour.
The result is a practical and attractive Mediterranean style gravel garden.

Walton-on-Thames family garden
A fresh, planting‑led redesign of a suburban garden that brings the planting closer to the house to complement a new extension.
The brief for this long, narrow garden was to introduce far more planting while still keeping room for everyday family life.
A generous sun‑soaked entertaining area was positioned near the house, wrapped in planting that will mature into a lush tapestry of grasses and hot‑coloured perennials. Stepping stones lead through the planting to create a playful, more engaging route for children heading towards the lawn, which has been retained with ample space for a trampoline and a goal post.
At the far end of the garden, a productive area features raised vegetable beds and trained fruit trees, partly screened by grasses and perennials to give a sense of discovery and separation.
The result is a garden that feels fuller, more alive, and beautifully balanced between relaxation, play, and the joy of growing.
Mediterranean Rockery - planting design
A complete overhaul of a large rockery overlooking a swimming pool in Surrey
The brief for this planting design was to update the rockery area that had become dominated by overgrown heathers and other shrubs to create Mediterranean style planting, giving the pool area a holiday feel. The design retained several larger plants, such as a number of palm trees and aimed to recreate the feel of a rocky Mediterranean landscape.
The planting is also designed to be drought-tolerant and attractive to pollinators while offering a long season of interest.
