Advice and garden coaching
From advice on how to revive a border that’s lost its sparkle, to a maintenance plan to help you or your gardener keep your garden at its very best, I can help you get more out of your garden.
Advice sessions and garden coaching give you practical, personalised guidance to help you understand, improve, and confidently manage your garden. They’re ideal for anyone who wants expert support without committing to a full redesign.
Is your garden in need of some help?
Perhaps the changing weather patterns haveleft it looking tired, a border has lost its sparkle, or there’s a problem area where plants never seem to thrive. Maybe you’ve moved into a new home and inherited planting you’re unsure how to manage, or you simply want to refresh the look without changing the overall design.
If you’d welcome seasonal guidance, help choosing the right plants, or support in directing your gardener, I offer flexible advice sessions—from one‑off consultations to regular seasonal reviews—to help you make the most of your outdoor space.
And if you’re new to gardening, a focused hour or two of one‑to‑one coaching can give you the confidence to get started and create a garden that feels calm, beautiful and easy to care for.
How an advice/coaching session works
Advice sessions are hands-on, collaborative and tailored to your goals. Each session last 1 hour and can include:
- walking the garden together to assess what is working and what isn’t
- identify and shortlist new plants that could add interest, structure or simply be more resilient
- exploring changes to layout and sketching simple design ideas to help you visualise potential changes
- offering seasonal guidance so that you know what to do, and when
- helping you build confidence in making changes yourself by demonstrating pruning techniques and best practise when planting
Pricing
The cost of the garden advice service depends on the size of your garden and scope of the help you need, but packages start from £250 to include an hours discussion in your garden, a comprehensive written report on what we discuss and any suggestions for new plants and changes you could make (not including scale drawings or detailed planting plans although these can be included for an additional fee).
I also offer an annual garden advice service starting from £550* which as well as the above also includes 2 further visits to your garden to advise what should be done on a seasonal basis and a written maintenance plan detailing what to do and when with the specific plants in your garden.
